SUMMARY The responsibilities of the Surface Finisher ll role is to perform various surface prep and finish operations on parts as well as firearms prior to final part assembly including rough cut raw material, deburr, shot peen, tumbling and cleaning parts, in addition to overseeing the work of Surface Finish l employees.

REQUIREMENTS MINIMUM JOB QUALIFICATIONS

• 2-4 years machine shop experience, high school diploma, GED or trade school graduate
• Must be able to read and interpret drawings; knowledge of GD&T a plus
• Must be able to acquire skills with common machine shop measuring tools (calipers, micrometers, ect.) to inspect and qualify machined parts accordingly
• Must be able to follow through on all tasks and projects according to supervision and leadership
• Strong attention to detail with a desire to continuously improve
• Knowledgeable of surface finish techniques
• Follow lean manufacturing practices and maintain a clean work environment

EQUIPMENT/SOFTWARE/SYSTEMS

• Safety shoes and safety glasses required. Hearing protection recommended
• General hand tools, measuring devices, equipment of the department
• Computer-Microsoft Office

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

• Standing for long periods of time; exposure to grease, oils, and noise
• Repetitive motion with hands, frequently bending over to lift boxes and parts
• Must be able to lift 50lbs

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Fill daily cut orders by cutting material to proper size using various saws
• Handle parts with close tolerances while deburring and other surface finish treatments
• Grinds, polishes, deburrs surfaces of metal parts, using hand tools and power tools
• Performs surface finishing on firearms
• Perform visual inspection of parts ensuring cosmetic requirements by JL Billet standards and customer requirements are met
• Operate, maintain, and provide preventative maintenance on vibratory finishing equipment
• Operate, maintain, and provide preventative maintenance on shot peen blasting equipment
• Lift, pack, unpack parts into designated boxes with appropriate labels
• Provide Production Manager with daily qty reports of parts ready for outside processing
• Feed raw or prepped material to associated machines to ensure all machines are properly stocked
• Provides general assistance to Assembly department in preparation of assembling and shipping finished parts
• Maintain cleanliness throughout the shop, including daily activities of replenishing blasting and tumbling media, general sweeping throughout the shop, cleaning tumbler tank, ect.
• Assist in training of personnel on SOP for surface finish equipment, including cross training of other employees
• Participate in safety training and actively comply with safety policies and practices Pass FBI/DOJ Back Ground Check NO felonies or violent misdemeanors
