Operating in a dynamic, high-volume production environment, we maintain the highest standards of food safety, product integrity, and craftsmanship. We are seeking a detail-oriented Quality Control (QC) Technician to monitor daily plant floor operations, enforce Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), test raw materials and finished goods, and ensure full regulatory compliance across our production lines.
Conduct daily sensory, visual, and physical quality evaluations on incoming raw materials, dough batches, work-in-progress (WIP), and finished baked goods to verify product specifications.
Food Safety & Compliance:
Monitor and enforce Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and HACCP protocols across the facility.
Data Documentation & Reporting:
Maintain accurate daily logs for oven and proofer temperatures, walk-in coolers/freezers, sanitation pre-operational checks, and quality parameters.
Equipment Calibration & Verification:
Perform daily calibrations and routine verifications on laboratory tools, weight scales, metal detectors, and thermometers.
Hold & Non-Conformance Management:
Identify defective or out-of-spec products, initiate immediate QA holds, document root-cause findings, and coordinate with plant management on corrective actions.
Audit Readiness Support:
Assist in maintaining continuous audit readiness for internal inspections, third-party audits (GFSI/BRC/SQF), and regulatory visits.
Qualifications & Skills Experience:
1-3+ years of hands-on Quality Control or Quality Assurance experience in a commercial food manufacturing or bakery facility.
Safety & Standards Knowledge:
Strong practical understanding of GMPs, HACCP principles, allergen control programs, and food safety regulations (familiarity with SQF, BRC, or GFSI schemes is a plus).
Technical Aptitude:
Proficiency in basic math, digital spreadsheets/data entry, and the use of standard measurement and testing equipment.
Communication:
Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish is highly preferred.
Education:
High School Diploma or GED required; an Associate degree in Food Science, Biology, or a related discipline is a plus. Work Environment & Physical Requirements Ability to stand, walk, and inspect production lines for extended periods in an active plant environment. Comfortable working in variable temperature zones (hot oven areas, ambient bakery lines, and walk-in coolers/freezers). Regular exposure to common food allergens (wheat/gluten, dairy, eggs, and seeds). Flexibility to work weekend schedules and flexible shifts to support ongoing production.
Pay:
