To Be Determined Job Description Substitute - Food Services (Daily, as needed) Hingham Public Schools is seeking candidates to fill substitute food service positions. All substitute postions are on an "as needed" basis. These positions offer flexibile scheduling. Primary responsibility of the Substitute Food Service Technician is to assist in keeping preparation and serving of meals to students. Responsibilities Maintain cleanliness and adhere to food safety procedures As directed, pProduce appealing, nutritous meals and snacks Ensure proper serving temperature and palatability of food prior to serving Ensure proper portion control measures are followed to eliminate food shortages and waste Maintain appropriate level of sanitation and follow safe food handling practices Other duties as assigned Qualifications High School Diploma or equivalency, required Experience in food service preparation and service Strong work ethic Physical and Environmental Demands Regular periods of physical activity require the ability to stand for long periods, walking, climbing, bending, and ability to lift, carry, and position objects weighing up to 45 pounds. The ability to make swift and responsible decisions in an emergency or hazardous situations. Must have the ability to observe details at both close and distant range. Interior work where the employee may be exposed to loud noise, extremes of heat when cooking and preparing foods. Manual dexterity required to handle kitchen equipment and tools such as knives, steamers, slices, and mixers.
