Summary We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Food Service Technician to join our team at Schoolcraft Elementary on a part-time basis. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing nutritious and appealing meals to our students while ensuring a safe and clean food service environment. This position requires a passion for working with children and a commitment to promoting healthy eating habits. Responsibilities Assist in the preparation and serving of meals in accordance with established menus and nutrition guidelines. Ensure all food is prepared and presented in a safe, sanitary, and appealing manner. Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen and dining areas, including washing dishes, utensils, and equipment. Monitor food temperatures and storage conditions to ensure compliance with health and safety regulations. Help with inventory management, including receiving, storing, and labeling food supplies. Assist in planning and implementing special meal events or programs. Provide excellent customer service to students, staff, and parents. Participate in training sessions and staff meetings as required. Follow all food safety and sanitation protocols to maintain a healthy environment. Requirements High school diploma or equivalent preferred. Previous experience in food service or kitchen environment is a plus. Knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices. Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, especially with children. Ability to lift and carry food supplies and equipment as needed. Flexible schedule to accommodate part-time hours, including mornings and early afternoons. Must pass a background check as required by school district policy.
