Job Description

Responsible for collaboration around local food access; provide community support, and work with a local food coalition. This position will be responsible for SNAP Application Assistance and Outreach, the Groceries to Go Program, the Northeastern MN Food Shelf Network, and area Farmers Markets. Bachelor's degree in public health, social sciences, or related field, or a combination of education and experience. Minimum of 1 year experience with community food systems. Digital literacy skills.
Needed Attributes:
Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, data entry and reporting, ability to work with the public and community members at all income levels. Works effectively with teams and independently. Ability to manage multiple priorities. FT Food Access Coordinator needed in Virginia, MN. This will be full-time position working 32 hours per week Monday- Thursday 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. This position will be responsible for SNAP Application Assistance and Outreach, Groceries to Go Program, the Northeastern MN Food Shelf Network, and area Farmers Markets.
Starting wage:

Support existing farm-to-school programs. Responsible for the food access programs, including outreach, application assistance, reporting and monitoring for program compliance. Facilitate membership meetings of the Northeast Minnesota Food Shelf Network. Network with community food access coalition and other partners to increase awareness of services and encourage utilization of services. Provide technical assistance and support to regional food shelves and farmers markets Represent the agency through outreach efforts and public speaking engagements as required. Participate in professional development in-services and training as appropriate. Responsible for maintaining appropriate record keeping and reporting per funding requirements. Comply with federal, state, and other requirements related to the food access services. Responsible for Farmer's Market EBT Clerk staff, and program volunteers, including the selection, training, evaluation, and disciplinary processes.
