Job Description

The Agriculture Department is looking for students to fill the role of Student Lab Assistants. The Student Lab Assistant will be responsible for maintaining lab areas, maintaining greenhouse by watering and managing pests, maintain supplies, and assist with activities and events in support of the Agriculture Department. This position is funded by State or Federal Work-Study. Students must be available to work up to 16 hours per week. The total amount of hours will vary per quarter. Students must be capable of working independently and collaboratively, with availability between 8 am and 5 pm. To work at the college, you will participate in a movement. The primary responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to: Maintain lab areas and greenhouse by watering, planting, and managing pests. Maintain inventory and supplies. Assist with activities and events such as work shops, educational fairs, seminars, and the promotion of career opportunities. Other tasks as assigned by the supervisor.
Interested students must be:
Enrolled at in a Workforce program at BBCC for more than 6 credits. Have a minimum GPA of 2.0. Demonstrate strong oral and written communication skills. Be punctual and responsible with work schedule. Able to provide clear instructions and communicate effectively with students, staff, and faculty.
