This position conducts routine quality testing and monitors raw materials, in-process and finished products, plant sanitation and GMP's. The technician maintains accurate monitoring and test records and promptly reports any non-compliance with company standards to the UCS Production and QA Supervisor, leads, or management as appropriate. Essential Duties Perform routine QA and HACCP monitoring, documentation, reporting, and related activities in accordance with company and customer standards and specifications. Processes may include finfish steaking, filleting, re-grading, and boxing; crab cutting and grading; and roe processing. Review QA monitoring and test results for compliance with company and customer standards and specifications. Promptly report deviations to the UCS Production and QA Supervisor, leads or management as appropriate. Monitor in-process sanitation and employee compliance with GMP's. Provide guidance on proper sanitation and safe food-handling practices as needed. Conduct non-routine QA monitoring and testing for special projects assigned to QA Supervisor or General Manager. Projects may include developing QA databases, analyzing quality and HACCP trends, and reviewing QA or HACCP monitoring procedures. Routinely inspect warehouse areas for compliance with sanitation, storage, and GMP standards. Promptly report any deficiencies. Complete other duties as assigned. In Your Absence In your absence the QA Lead or QA Supervisor will perform essential duties. Position Requirements High school diploma or equivalent, with a solid understanding of algebra. One to three years of experience in food processing, manufacturing, quality assurance, or related environment preferred. Equivalent education, training, or relevant experience may be considered. Must be able to follow established procedures, work with minimal supervision after training, and work effectively with personnel across departments. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and collaborate effectively with team members. Ability to adapt to changing workloads. Excellent organizational, written, and verbal communication skills. Ability to work in conditions involving frequent exposure—more than 50% of the time—to undesirable environmental This full-time, hourly position pays $22.55 per hour and follows a Monday-through-Thursday schedule of four 10-hour shifts.
