Oakland, CA About the Role We are seeking a skilled and hands-on Furniture Installer to join our team. This role is ideal for an experienced professional with a background in custom furniture, millwork, or cabinetry installation who thrives in both leadership and field environments. Job Summary The Shipping & Final Assembly Employee is responsible for final assembly, preparation, inspection, packaging, and shipment of finished office furniture products. This position ensures that furniture is properly assembled, meets quality standards, is accurately prepared for shipment, and is safely loaded for delivery to customers, distributors, and job sites. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Final Assembly Perform final assembly of office furniture according to work orders, drawings, instructions, and specifications. Assemble desks, workstations, conference tables, cabinets, storage units, panels, and other office furniture products. Install hardware, brackets, fasteners, handles, hinges, legs, drawers, doors, and other components. Use hand tools, power tools, drills, screwdrivers, and other assembly equipment safely and correctly. Verify that all components are present and properly installed. Inspect completed furniture for quality, appearance, alignment, and proper operation. Make necessary adjustments or minor corrections before products are moved to shipping. Identify damaged, missing, or defective components and report them to the supervisor. Follow assembly instructions, production schedules, and quality-control procedures. Maintain a clean and organized assembly workstation. Shipping Prepare finished office furniture orders for shipment according to customer orders and shipping instructions. Verify product quantities, sizes, colors, models, and other order details before shipment. Inspect furniture and packaging for damage or defects before loading. Properly wrap, protect, label, and secure furniture for transportation. Prepare shipping documents, packing lists, bills of lading, labels, and other required paperwork. Coordinate with Production, Warehouse, Customer Service, and Sales to ensure orders are ready for shipment. Load and unload trucks using proper material-handling procedures. Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, carts, and other warehouse equipment as authorized. Arrange products efficiently in the shipping area to maximize space and prevent damage. Properly secure products inside trucks or shipping containers. Work with freight carriers and drivers during pickup and delivery. Report shortages, damaged products, incorrect orders, or shipping problems to the supervisor. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe shipping area. Follow all company safety policies and OSHA requirements. Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications Previous experience in furniture assembly, shipping, warehouse, manufacturing, or a related field preferred. Ability to read and understand work orders, assembly instructions, drawings, packing lists, and shipping instructions. Basic computer skills preferred. Experience using hand tools and power tools. Forklift experience/certification preferred. Strong attention to detail and accuracy. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Good communication and organizational skills. Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
