Finisher who is comfortable running a spray booth and taking wood products from raw to retail-ready — stain, sealer, topcoat, sanding, distressing, and touch-up. We highly value work ethic and positive mindsets and are looking for the right finisher who will help us continue to grow and build into a top design/retail manufacturing company in the US. This is a fast-paced retail manufacturing position. You'll own the finishing side of the shop and work closely with the head of builds and a growing team. Projects include complete store retail design builds, individual retail fixtures, and builds for client expos onsite at large conventions. We finish anything from cabinets, cash registers, tables, custom fixtures, product display units, live edge slabs, etc. We are a lean shop and are looking for someone who knows or wants to learn Lean manufacturing. Responsibilities and Activities Run the spray booth and finish all products start to finish — stain, sealer, toner, glaze, and clear coat Sand and prep raw goods, sand between coats, and hand-rub or buff to final sheen Mix, reduce, and tint finishes to spec; match color to approved samples and keep finishes consistent across runs and batches Distressing, antiquing, and other custom finish techniques for rustic and western retail fixtures Touch-up and repair of dings, blemishes, and field damage, including on-site at client installs and conventions Inspect finished goods for quality before they leave the booth — no runs, sags, fisheyes, or dry spray Maintain the booth and finishing equipment: clean and rebuild spray guns, change filters, manage dry/cure racks, keep the booth clean and safe Manage stain, topcoat, abrasive, and supply quantities so we don't run out mid-project or over-order Follow all safety and PPE requirements — respirator, spray booth protocol, flammable storage, proper disposal Packaging of finished goods and palletizing for shipment Participate in a LEAN culture — daily improvements, clean workspace, waste reduction Minimum Qualifications Hard working and positive attitude Trainable and ready to learn and participate in a LEAN culture Previous finishing experience in a cabinet, furniture, millwork, or similar production shop Proficient with spray equipment (HVLP, conversion, air-assisted airless) and comfortable dialing in a gun Experience with stains, sealers, lacquer, conversion varnish, pre-cat, and/or water-based finishes Knowledgeable about and able to work with all types of wood and how each takes finish Strong eye for color matching and surface quality Comfortable with sanders and basic shop tools for prep and touch-up
