Upstay is looking for a Temporary Design Execution Technician to join our team! Get Your Resume Ready! We work with local governments and homeowner associations to develop standards and provide industry-wide leadership so our guests can relax and enjoy their time with us. Overview As a Design Execution Technician , you'll be the hands-on expert responsible for turning our design concepts into stunning, guest-ready spaces. From unpacking furniture to hanging art or painting walls and styling final touches, you'll transform empty units into beautifully curated homes that reflect Upstay's signature style. Reporting directly to the head of design, you'll work closely with the designers and operations teams to ensure each project is completed on time and to a high standard.
Your Key Responsibilities Will Include:
Prepare interior walls and surfaces for painting, including cleaning, patching, sanding, and priming. Paint walls, ceilings, trim, doors, and other surfaces according to project specifications. Complete accent walls and custom wall paint designs when required. Perform paint touch-ups and corrections to ensure a clean, professional finish. Prepare interior walls and surfaces for painting, including cleaning, patching, sanding, and priming. Assemble, install, and arrange furniture and décor based on design plans. Hang artwork, mirrors, shelves, curtains, and decorative features. Assist with room setups and styling according to specified layouts. Support wallpaper installation and other wall treatments when required. Assist with basic woodworking, carpentry, lighting, LED, and installation projects depending on experience. Perform quality checks on furniture, décor, and completed work. Pick up furniture, materials, paint, and design items from vendors when required. Assist with garbage and recycling disposal throughout the project. Keep properties clean, organized, functional, and ready for final turnover. Coordinate with designers, contractors, and operations team members regarding project needs, missing materials, or issues encountered on site. Identify wall or surface issues requiring drywall repair or additional preparation before painting. Ensure completed painting work meets Upstay's design and quality standards. What We're Looking For Experience with residential painting, wall preparation, touch-ups, and finishing. Ability to produce clean, professional-quality painting work. Experience with drywall repair and preparation is an asset. Experience with renovation, property maintenance, construction, staging, furniture assembly, or interior design execution is an asset. Comfortable using standard tools, including drills, levels, painting equipment, and mounting hardware. Carpentry or woodworking experience is an asset. Wallpaper installation experience is an asset. Basic electrical or lighting installation experience is an asset. Curtain and artwork installation experience is an asset. Strong attention to detail and ability to follow design specifications. Ability to work efficiently and independently while remaining accountable for assigned tasks. Ability to lift and move furniture, equipment, and décor safely. Reliable, punctual, and able to work collaboratively with designers, contractors, and other team members. Basic English communication skills preferred. Valid driver's license and reliable transportation are required for travel between project properties. Schedule & Location Temporary / project-based position Approximately 30-40 hours per week, depending on project needs. Typically Monday through Friday, from 8:00 am to 4:30 pm, with some flexibility based on project timelines. Work will take place at Upstay properties throughout the Orlando area.
