Job Description
Job Overview Join our dynamic retail team as a Shop Technician, where your enthusiasm and hands-on skills will drive exceptional customer experiences and support our daily operations. In this role, you'll be the friendly face that helps customers find what they need, maintain the shop floor, and assist with various tasks to ensure smooth store functioning. Your mechanical knowledge and experience with mechanical or warehouse environments will be highly valued as you contribute to a vibrant, fast-paced setting. Provide friendly, knowledgeable, and solution-oriented service to all team members, customers, and vendors. Greet and assist customers in a positive, approachable manner. Answer questions and resolve customer concerns. Advise customers on solutions to projects and problems with add on sales when appropriate. Treat all team members, vendors, and customers with courtesy and respect. Communicate effectively; Keep radio traffic to a minimum; answer the phone. Ensure all incoming repairs are completed in a timely manner; repairs include Stihl and Scag outdoor power equipment and glass cutting, minor metal fabrication, and hydraulic hose repair. Actively cross-train in departments and areas of the store, demonstrating a commitment to continuous learning. Perform any necessary customer service tasks including but not limited to; cutting keys, filling propane, running register, assisting with loading products, answering inquiries, etc. Maintain a clean, organized, and well-merchandised assigned department, including re-stickering, fronting, dusting, sweeping, and general cleaning. Assist in other departments as needed, while always keeping customer service as the top priority. Keep the shop floor clean and presentable. Assist in the process of unloading freight and stocking shelves. Store maintenance as needed including but not limited to; cleaning common areas, trash removal, parking lot and sidewalk sweeping. Ensure no items are left on the ground on the shop floor. Prevent trip hazards. Ensure a safe working environment. Follow proper lifting, equipment and PPE guidelines. Maintain situational awareness. Identify and report any safety issues or concerns to management. Uphold personal appearance standards per company policy. Follow all guidelines outlined in the Team Member Handbook. Perform other duties as assigned. Skills Proven experience working on a jobsite or shop area. Mechanical knowledge with the ability to operate outdoor power equipment safely. Hydraulic hose repair experience is preferred but we train on site. Welding and or fabricating experience is preferred but we also train on site. Stihl and Scag sales and service certifications are preferred. Strong organizational skills to keep work areas tidy and inventory accurately tracked Excellent communication skills for assisting customers and collaborating with team members Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced setting while maintaining attention to detail Valid forklift certification is preferred but not mandatory; willingness to obtain certification is a plusThis role is ideal for motivated individuals eager to gain hands-on experience in retail, mechanical repair, or shop settings.
