Job Duties Grind, sand, deburr, and polish metal parts using hand grinders, belt sanders, buffers, and other finishing equipment. Remove sharp edges, weld splatter, burrs, and surface imperfections from fabricated components. Inspect finished parts to ensure they meet quality and dimensional specifications. Read and interpret work orders, blueprints, and production instructions. Maintain proper surface finishes in preparation for painting, powder coating, or assembly. Safely operate grinders, polishers, and other hand and power tools. Perform routine maintenance on tools and equipment and report any mechanical issues. Education Requirements High school diploma or GED preferred. Previous manufacturing or production training is beneficial. Experience Requirements Ability to work safely in manufacturing and production environments. Ability to follow written work instructions, production procedures, and quality standards. Strong attention to detail with the ability to maintain productivity and consistent quality. Mechanical aptitude and the ability to safely operate basic production equipment when required. Dependable attendance, teamwork, and a commitment to workplace safety. Preferred Qualifications Previous manufacturing, assembly, production, warehouse, or industrial experience is preferred. Experience operating production equipment, performing quality inspections, or meeting production goals is beneficial. Knowledge of Lean manufacturing, continuous improvement practices, or workplace safety procedures is considered an asset. Individuals who demonstrate reliability, adaptability, teamwork, and a strong work ethic are well positioned for success as a Polisher Grinder. Previous experience in metal grinding, polishing, deburring, or metal fabrication preferred. Experience using hand grinders, pneumatic tools, belt sanders, and polishing equipment. Ability to read tape measures and basic manufacturing drawings. Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Physical Capabilities Ability to stand, walk, bend, reach, and perform repetitive production tasks throughout the shift. Ability to lift materials, components, or finished products weighing up to 50 pounds. Ability to safely operate around production equipment and moving machinery. Ability to maintain productivity while working in fast-paced manufacturing environments. Ability to stand, bend, and walk for extended periods. Frequently lift and move up to pounds. Ability to perform repetitive hand and arm movements. Comfortable working in a manufacturing environment with exposure to noise, dust, and metal particles. Must wear required personal protective equipment (PPE), including safety glasses, hearing protection, gloves, and steel-toe boots.
