POSITION SUMMARY
Griffon Aerospace, a leader in the exciting Unmanned Aerial System (UAS) and composites industry, is seeking a talented Structural Integration Technician to perform precision drilling, adhesive bonding, fastener installation, and trimming on composite, plywood, and metallic airframe structures. This position directly interfaces with Customer, Manufacturing, Engineering, Flight Test and UAS Flight Operations Staff. The growing Madison, AL-based small business is seeking innovative individuals who want to join an up tempo, maker culture that proudly provides products and services to support the American Warfighter!
REQUIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE
High School Graduate Ability to lift 35 lbs often and work standing up for a full 8hr shift General use of hand tools and measurement devices including drills, rivet guns, trim saws, deburring tools, calipers, and drill templates/jigs Ability to work to engineering drawings and detailed work instructions Ability to perform precision drilling, countersinking, and hole preparation on composite, plywood, and metallic structures to drawing tolerances Ability to prepare surfaces for and apply structural adhesive bonds Ability to install structural fasteners (rivets, blind fasteners, threaded inserts) to torque and spacing specifications Ability to trim composite and plywood parts, edges, and bond lines to net dimensions
DESIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE
Experience with aerospace composite structures (fiberglass, carbon fiber, plywood), structural fasteners, and adhesive bond preparation and bonding processes Experience working from a traveler/router or MES/ERP work order system Prior UAS, aerospace, or defense manufacturing experience
