Job Description
Centerless Grinding Machine OperatorPosition Summary We are seeking an experienced Centerless Grinding Machine Operator to operate manual Cincinnati Centerless Grinding machines producing precision metal components. This role is responsible for maintaining quality, dimensional accuracy, and production efficiency by following work instructions and performing in-process inspections. The operator will monitor machine performance and report any issues to the Setup Technician or Supervisor. Responsibilities Operate manual Cincinnati Centerless Grinding machines. Load and unload parts while maintaining production flow. Perform first-piece and in-process inspections using precision measuring tools. Monitor machine performance and identify grinding defects such as chatter, taper, burn, or poor surface finish. Record inspection and production data accurately. Maintain machine cleanliness and perform basic daily maintenance checks. Follow production schedules, quality standards, and safety procedures. Report equipment issues, nonconforming material, and unsafe conditions promptly. Qualifications Minimum 2 years of experience operating manual centerless grinding machines. Experience with Cincinnati Centerless Grinders preferred. Ability to hold tight tolerances (±0.0005"). Experience using micrometers, air gauges, comparators, and other precision measuring equipment. Ability to read blueprints and interpret basic GD&T. Strong attention to detail and mechanical aptitude. Preferred Aerospace manufacturing experience. Experience grinding stainless steel, titanium, Inconel, 15-5PH, or 17-4PH. Knowledge of SPC, Lean Manufacturing, and 5S. Physical Requirements Ability to stand for extended periods. Lift up to 40 pounds. Comfortable working in a manufacturing environment while wearing required
