Job Description
Machine Shop Assistant Manufacturing facility has an opening for a machine shop assistant. The Machine Assistant is a foundational role within our production and manufacturing operations, acting as the primary support for skilled Machine Operators. Must possess basic shop math skills, blueprint reading. Must be able to use measurement instruments, calipers, protractor and tape measure. Duties include operating horizontal band saw, Iron worker, drill press Assist senior operators in the setup, calibration, and changeover of manufacturing equipment according to detailed work orders and production schedules. .
Additional Duties and Responsibilities:
Cleanup of work area and machinery Other work as assigned by supervision Initiative for starting action and performing additional work when primary duties have been accomplished Perform work responsibly and reliably contributing to the efforts of the team Produce an acceptable volume of work or results Perform accurate, neat, and thorough work that meets acceptable standards of the company Comply with company attendance and punctuality requirements Communicate clearly, effectively and professionally in an accurate and timely manner, listen and ask appropriate questions Work together with the team to promote a positive work environment Use equipment and materials safely and for their intended purposeMinimum Qualifications:
Education:
High School Diploma or GED Some working knowledge of computer operations 1+ years related experience as machine operator or assistant machine operatorSpecial Requirements:
Ability to work 8-10 hour shifts . Willing to complete other training as requested Tools and Equipment used: Basic computer operation skills Basic Math skills Basic skills reading measuring devices (tape measure) and test equipment Able to be comfortable working with different types of machines Various tools to include wrenches, drills, sanders and grinders.Physical Demands:
While performing the duties of this job the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, and sit. The employee is occasionally required to reach with hands and arms. The employee may be required to frequently lift and/or move up to 75 pounds.Work Environment:
Work is performed in a manufacturing environment. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles. The noise level in the work environment can be loud. Safety equipment will be required and provided while performing duties.Pay:
$16.00 - $18.00 per hour Expected hours: 40.0 - 50.0 per weekBenefits:
