SAM streamlines project delivery through a single, coordinated team, offering in-house capabilities across land surveying, aerial mapping, subsurface utility engineering (SUE), utility coordination (UC), GIS, BIM, and construction engineering inspection (CEI). Your Impact at SAM We are seeking a motivated individual interested in the construction industry who wants to grow their skills in construction surveying. This role supports a range of projects from large-scale industrial sites to mid-size commercial construction. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with construction experience—or limited surveying experience—who is eager to learn, think critically, and contribute to project success alongside an experienced Survey Party Chief and Project Management team. Key Responsibilities Assist with construction layout and field operations using total stations and related high quality survey equipment Support daily field activities, including stakeout, as-builts, and site verification Work alongside the Survey Party Chief to solve field challenges and ensure accurate project execution Maintain clear, organized field notes and documentation Communicate field conditions, issues, and progress back to the office team Provide feedback to support field-to-office coordination and continuous improvement Follow all safety protocols and contribute to a strong safety-first job site culture Adapt to flexible work hours based on construction schedules and project needs What This Role Offers Hands-on experience in construction surveying across diverse project types Opportunity for growth into more advanced survey and layout responsibilities Exposure to both field operations and coordination with office/project management teams What You Bring to SAM Interest in construction and a willingness to expand surveying practices Ability to think critically and problem-solve in a fast-paced field environment Strong work ethic and team-oriented attitude Attention to detail and commitment to accuracy Good communication skills, including listening, writing, and verbal interaction Organized note-taking and documentation skills Willingness to work flexible hours to support construction operations Safety-focused mindset Preferred (Not Required) Experience in construction (civil, concrete, or related trades) Experience operating a total station or other survey equipment 3-5 years of construction or instrument operator experience OSHA 10 certification Proficiency in basic math, including geometry, and strong critical thinking skills Proven work history demonstrating reliability and accountability Our Perks •
