You MUST have previous experience running Screw Machines to be considered for a Level 2 Operator!

Summary:

The machine operator focuses on performing setups and adjustments and keep the machines producing within the tolerance. Must be able to complete all of Level 1 capabilities:

• Load Stock into the bar feeder
• Start/Stop Cycles
• Monitor operation for tool wear or breakage
• Perform basic measurements (calipers, micrometers)
• Replace simple inserts or drills
• Clear simple jams
• Perform routine lubrication and cleaning As well as Level 2

Skilled Machine Operation:

• Set up all five spindles according to a layout sheet
• Select cams, gears, collets, feed fingers
• Time the machine: spindle sequence, slide actions, cutoff, etc.
• Adjust tools, form tools, shave tools, box tools, and attachments
• Diagnose issues such as: Mis-timing; tool chatter; part-dimension drift and feed issues
• Make offsets and adjustments during production
• Perform more advanced inspection (thread gages, indicators, go/no-go

Education/Experience:

• High school diploma or equivalency;
• Ability to make all inspections on machined parts using precision measuring equipment.
• Skilled Machinist experience required.

Physical Requirements:

• Prolonged periods working on feet, using tools, and performing repetitive actions that entail frequent lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, bending and stooping;
• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at a time;
• Visual acuity to read instructions, operate machines, and inspect parts produced;
• Exposure to hazardous materials;
• Sound and noise levels are loud and distracting;
• Use of protective items such as safety shoes, glasses, gloves, hearing protection.
