Leetsdale, PA Reports to: Patrick Curry Role Summary We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Sheet Metal Stamping Operator to join our manufacturing team. In this role, you will set up, operate, and tend stamping presses and auxiliary equipment to shape, blank, punch, and form metal sheets according to exact engineering specifications and blueprints.
Key Responsibilities Machine Setup:
Safely install, align, and secure dies, punches, and gauges into the stamping press using hoists and hand tools.
Machine Operation:
Run mechanical or hydraulic stamping presses while closely monitoring production speed and output.
Quality Control:
Inspect finished parts using precision measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, and height gauges to ensure they meet strict tolerances.
Material Handling:
Load and unload coils or sheet metal blanks into the press using forklifts or overhead cranes.
Maintenance & Troubleshooting:
Perform routine preventative maintenance on machinery, clear jams safely, and troubleshoot minor mechanical issues to minimize downtime.
Safety Compliance:
Adhere to all OSHA and facility safety regulations, including wearing required PPE, utilizing light curtains, and performing daily safety checks.
Qualifications & Requirements Experience:
1-3 years of experience operating mechanical or hydraulic stamping presses in a manufacturing environment.
Technical Skills:
Ability to read and interpret blueprints, mechanical drawings, and work orders.
Physical Stamina:
Ability to stand for long periods, lift and carry up to 50 lbs., and perform repetitive physical tasks.
Math & Measurement:
Strong shop math skills and proficiency in using calipers, micrometers, and other quality inspection tools.
Certifications:
Forklift certification or the ability to obtain one is preferred.
Pay:
$21.00 - $27.00 per hour
