Job Overview :
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Paint Operator to join our manufacturing team. Reporting to the Production Manager and Paint Department Lead; In this role, you will be responsible for preparing surfaces and applying high-quality paint to vinyl pieces, ensuring they meet strict quality standards and safety protocols. Your expertise in surface preparation, painting techniques, and materials handling will be vital in delivering durable, visually appealing finished products. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work in a dynamic environment where precision, safety, and craftsmanship are at the forefront of every project.General Responsibilities :
Mix/dye paint for sub-assembly components (for vinyl patio doors) to defined specifications and standards. Sub-assembly components preparation process, including cleaning, masking, load/unload and transporting paint carts. Handle materials safely while adhering strictly to safety protocols (Occupational Health and Safety regulations, company standard operating procedures, and best practice guidelines) and proper use of PPE (Personal Protective Equipment.) Conduct visual color comparisons and inspect finished surfaces for quality consistency, ensuring adherence to company standards. Maintain a clean work environment by properly handling waste materials and performing routine equipment maintenance (e.g. inspection, cleaning, lubrication/greasing, TPM, etc.). Support lean manufacturing initiatives by optimizing workflow processes and reducing waste during surface preparation and paint operations. Participate in continuous improvement initiatives (e.g. general problem solving, 5S, Safety audits, etc.)Skills & Abilities :
Proven experience in industrial painting, construction painting surface preparation, or manufacturing finishing roles. Safe operation of small handheld tools (e.g. screwdriver, mallet, Olfa knife, clamps, etc.) Ability to operate coating spray guns effectively. Familiarity with quality standards in production environments and the ability to interpret production documents accurately. Knowledge of coating materials such as powder coatings, paints (including auto painting), and related application techniques like conventional spraying and airless paint spraying. Ability to use precision measuring instruments for quality control purposes. Basic math skills for measurements and calculations related to coating thicknesses or material quantities. Commitment to safety protocol adherence including PPE use such as respirators and respiratory protection devices. Ability to follow verbal and written instructions, handle multiple tasks, and respond quickly to changing priorities.
