Responsible for operating machines to produce precision metal parts according to specifications. Responsibilities Set up and operate grinding machines to shape, sharpen, or smooth metal workpieces. Select appropriate grinding tools and equipment based on the specifications of the job. Inspect finished workpieces to ensure they meet quality standards and specifications. Make adjustments to the grinding machine as needed to achieve precise measurements and finishes. Read and interpret engineering drawings and blueprints to understand the specifications of the workpiece. Prepare materials for grinding by securing them in the machine and making any necessary adjustments. Adhere to all safety guidelines and protocols while operating grinding machines. Wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) and follow established safety procedures. Perform routine maintenance on grinding machines to ensure they operate efficiently. Report any machine malfunctions or maintenance needs to the supervisor.
