Tubing fitter Lay out, assemble, install, and maintain tubing pipe systems, tubing pipe supports, and related hydraulic and pneumatic equipment for steam, hot water, heating, cooling, lubricating, sprinkling, and industrial production and processing systems.

Abilities include:

• Able to read and understand general fabrication drawings and welding specifications and procedures.
• Pipefitting (pipes under 180psi)
• Cut, thread, and hammer pipe to specifications, using tools such as saws, cutting torches, and pipe threaders and benders.
• Assemble and secure pipes, tubes, fittings, and related equipment, according to specifications, by welding, brazing, cementing, soldering, and threading joints.
• Attach pipes to walls, structures and fixtures, such as radiators or tanks, using brackets, clamps, tools or welding equipment.
• Measure and mark pipes for cutting and threading.
• Lay out full scale drawings of pipe systems, supports, and related equipment, following blueprints.
• Capable of working on heights using proper fall protection.
• Capable of hand torching (using diverse techniques) with precision.
• Capable of supervising helpers.

Technical Requirements:

• Required formal training in welding techniques or 5 years of proven welding experience.
• One years' experience in manufacturing facilities.

Quality Minded Physical Requirements:

• Duties are performed standing with frequent bending, walking, pushing/pulling, and heavy lifting/carrying occasionally.

Wearing of personal protective equipment (hard hat, earplugs, metatarsal boots, welding helmets, etc.).

$30.00 - $35.00 per hour
