Urban Manufacturing is a precision CNC machining and assembly company founded in 1978, generating approximately $40 million in annual sales. Operating across two locations, our primary facility is joined by a sister site approximately five miles away in Brookfield—a newer ~$5 million operation positioned for significant growth. Together, the two sites employ nearly 200 team members and target growth across the medical equipment and power distribution markets. We are built on a reputation for precision, reliability, and treating our employees and partners with integrity. We are seeking a reliable Wire EDM Operator to join our team. The Wire EDM Operator is responsible for setting up and operating CNC wire discharge machines to manufacture precise metal components according to blueprint specifications and tight tolerances.

Key Responsibilities:

Load raw stock, thread wire, start pre-programmed Wire EDM runs, and monitor machines during production. Remove finished parts, clean components, and maintain smooth production flow. Perform basic in-process quality checks using calipers, micrometers, and height gauges. Assist with machine setups and fixture alignment under senior machinist supervision (full setup/programming skills preferred, but not required) . Perform basic daily care, including loading wire spools, topping off fluids, and maintaining a clean work area.

Qualifications & Skills:

Experience operating Wire EDM equipment. Machine setup and CAM programming skills are preferred, not required . Basic blueprint reading skills and familiarity with standard measuring tools (calipers/micrometers). Detail-oriented, dependable, eager to learn, and strong work ethic. High school diploma or GED equivalent. Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 40 lbs.
