Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Licensed Asbestos Worker to join our environmental remediation team. In this vital role, you will be responsible for safely executing asbestos abatement projects, ensuring strict compliance with environmental regulations and safety standards. Your expertise will help protect both the environment and public health by properly handling hazardous materials and performing asbestos removal with precision and care. Responsibilities Execute asbestos abatement procedures using appropriate hand tools, specialized equipment, and safe handling techniques. Follow all hazardous materials handling safety protocols, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) such as respirators, gloves, and protective suits. Implement asbestos decontamination procedures to ensure complete removal and prevent cross-contamination during and after projects. Assist with demolition activities where asbestos is present, ensuring safe removal before structural work begins. Maintain accurate documentation of abatement activities, including logs, inspection reports, and compliance records. Support environmental compliance efforts by adhering to hazardous materials regulations and OSHA safety standards throughout all phases of work. Requirements Valid license as an Asbestos Worker or equivalent certification from a recognized authority. Completion of asbestos abatement training and certification programs. Proven experience working with hazardous materials handling safety protocols in construction or environmental remediation settings. Knowledge of OSHA standards related to hazardous materials and respiratory protection requirements. Familiarity with asbestos inspection, abatement techniques, and environmental regulatory compliance practices. Ability to operate hand tools safely and efficiently in confined or challenging environments. Strong understanding of hazardous materials regulations, environmental compliance procedures, and demolition safety practices. Previous construction, restoration, demolition, or general labor experience is a plus, but not required. Ability to lift and carry 50+ pounds repeatedly. Physically able to perform demanding manual labor, including standing, bending, kneeling, climbing, and working in various conditions. Reliable transportation and dependable attendance.
