This job is flexible and dare I say fun, and perfect for someone with a creative streak of their own. It is a combination of in-person responsibility and some work-from-home including manual assembly of products. I'm looking for someone who wants to supplement their existing work or hustle with a reliable side income that comes with learning new skills in laser cutting and other kinds of fabrication, design, and ecommerce, though it's possible this could grow closer to a full-time role in time and I would love to find someone who wants to grow with me. As a perk, you would have access to my creative studio for your own needs, with the expectation of maintenance and supplying your own materials. The ideal candidate lives north of Woodfin and will not have to commute from very far away - the studio is in north Weaverville near Barnardsville. Responsibilities (in order they will be trained) Assembly of existing products for a small embroidery accessories brand. Nice-to-have:
familiarity with SEO, ecommerce platforms like Shopify, design skills I value flexibility and autonomy in my job and for my employees and can work with a wide variety of availabilities and schedules. This role requires a vehicle and driver's license. Training pay is $23/hr with increase to $25/hr after fit is assessed with pay growth as skills are acquired (1099 contractor). WFH assembly pays per unit and is tuned to be $30+/hr from beginning. Work hours vary and there is some seasonality (we are heading into the busy holidays currently), but I am hoping to grow this role into something with more consistent hours. I believe in ample compensation, respect, flexibility, and trust as a baseline for a working relationship.
Note:
although I provide PPE, ventilation, and air filtration to create the healthiest environment possible, the laser cutting process involves some smoke and plastic fumes. This may not be the right job for someone who is immune-compromised, has MCAS, or is extremely sensitive to smells. Please provide a cover letter of any length that helps me understand your fit and interest in this role and anything you think I should know about why we should work together!
