Position Overview:
Baraka Gems is seeking a skilled and motivated Senior Jewelry Designer/Showroom Associate to join our dynamic team. This position requires a blend of creativity, jewelry expertise, and exceptional customer service skills. Requires a strong background in fine jewelry design and sales, customer service, an understanding of precious metals, diamonds and gemstones, and the jewelry manufacturing process. Time-management, organizational, and multi-tasking skills are key while managing appointments, designing, greeting clients, selling merchandise, responding to emails and phone calls, and other duties as needed in the showroom. ​​

Primary Responsibilities:
Work with clients to bring their jewelry design vision to life. After training period, work with an average of 45-55 active custom design clients. Assist with basic administrative tasks and operations at Baraka Gems (ie. answering the door, client interaction, phone and emails, scheduling, and designer training). Follow-Up Calls and Emails to Clients. Face to Face Sales with Clients, Including Processing Client Invoices and Payments. Ordering, Receiving and Returning Products from Vendors. Correctly Implement all Studio Opening, Operating, Safety and Closing Procedures. Assist with Planning and Executing Special Sales and Events. Maintaining Studio Cleanliness and Decorating.
Necessary Character Traits:
Strong Work Ethic, Ambitious, Self-Initiator, Detailed Oriented Person, Organized, Good Memory, Good with Computer Systems, Trustworthy, Ability to Anticipate Needs.
Experience Required:
Fine jewelry sketch and design experience (Minimum 4 years) Face to face fine jewelry retail sales and customer service (Minimum 2 years) Accurate working knowledge of precious metals and stones Accurate working knowledge of the fine jewelry manufacturing process Experience greeting customers, answering phones and replying to emails Strong in standard computer software. Some systems we use include Shopify, Teamup, Airtable, Canva, Google Docs/Microsoft Word, Google Sheets/Excel, Lightspeed POS/CRM for retail Organizational work-flow and project management systems
Experience Desired:
Knowledge of vintage/estate fine jewelry including eras and styles
Position Details:
    Start Date:
    Position available immediately.
      Hours:
      40hrs/week (Tuesday-Saturday 10:00am-6:30pm with a half hour lunch). Must be willing to maintain flexibility to work holidays and special events.
        Wage:
        $30-$34/hr
