A Locksmith installs door and building locks and makes copies of locks and keys for customers. Assists people who lose keys or get locked out of cars or buildings, and changes building locks as needed for security.
We are hiring Automotive Locksmith Technician . This position offers a dynamic mix of in-shop work. We fully equip our technicians for success. The company provides all tools, diagnostic programmers, and service vehicles. You will work with industry-leading diagnostic platforms like Autel and Smart Pro , performing everything from standard lockouts to advanced EEPROM work . We are willing to train candidates who possess strong mechanical aptitude, a solid troubleshooting mindset, and computer proficiency. Core Responsibilities •
In-Shop Service:
Duplicate keys, and replace ignitions in the field, while managing walk-in customer needs in the shop. •
Key Cutting & Programming:
Connect to vehicles to program transponder chips, smart keys, and proximity push-to-start fobs . •
Advanced Diagnostics:
Perform EEPROM data reading, chip resetting, and module synchronization on specialized vehicle security systems. •
Ignition & Lock Diagnostics:
Disassemble, service, rebuild, or replace mechanical door locks, ignitions, and steering column ignition housings . •
Non-Destructive Entry:
Safely bypass vehicle locks using specialized tools and decoders without causing vehicle damage. •
Customer Service:
We value our customers, a good representative for Harvey's Lock and Security. Have clear communication with both coworkers and customers . Qualifications & Requirements •
Experience:
Familiar with automotive repair, car audio, electronics fixing, small engine maintenance, or similar hands-on roles is preferred but not required. we will train candidates with strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills. •
Tech-Savvy:
computer literacy, must be able to navigate modern software interfaces, handle precise electronics, and work cleanly with small components. •
Problem-Solving Skills:
An analytical, patient mind that enjoys navigating technical troubleshooting steps when systems or software do not respond normally • Mechanical aptitude: to smoothly disassemble vehicle doors and ignitions, service intricate lock cylinders, and utilize precision hand tools without damaging vehicle components •
Licensing:
Must possess a valid Driver's License with a clean driving record to operate the mobile service van. •
Background Check:
Must be able to pass a comprehensive criminal background check to meet state and industry bonding requirements. •
Physical Demands:
Ability to lift up to 75 lbs and work outdoors in varying weather conditions during mobile calls. Compensation & Benefits •
Pay Range:
$17.50 - $26.00 per hour (Starting rate based on your background; clear wage growth checkpoints as your locksmith skills progress) . •

8am- 5pm Mon-Fri; rotating 8am-12pm Saturday; rotating on-call schedule for emergency after-hours mobile service. •
