In this role, you will operate and set up CNC (Computer Numerical Control) machines, manual machining tools, and grinding equipment to produce high-quality parts according to detailed blueprints and technical specifications. Your expertise in machining processes, measurement techniques, and mechanical interpretation will ensure the delivery of accurate, reliable components that meet rigorous quality standards. Responsibilities Operate CNC milling machines, CNC lathes, grinders, and manual machining tools to produce complex metal parts with precision. Set up machines by installing tooling, calibrating equipment, and preparing workpieces based on detailed blueprints and technical drawings. Interpret mechanical blueprints and manufacturing drawings accurately, utilizing GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing) standards for quality control. Program CNC machines using G-code and M-code languages; develop or modify CAM (Computer-Aided Manufacturing) programs for efficient production runs. Measure finished parts using precision measurement instruments such as calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, micrometers, and bore gauges to ensure dimensional accuracy. Conduct quality inspections during and after machining processes to verify adherence to specifications; perform CNC quality inspections as needed. Maintain a clean and safe work environment by adhering to safety protocols; perform machine maintenance and troubleshooting as necessary. Collaborate with team members on tooling selection, machine setup, and process improvements to optimize productivity and quality. Qualifications Proven experience operating CNC machining centers including CNC milling machines and CNC lathes; familiarity with manual machining is a plus. Strong knowledge of blueprint reading, mechanical blueprint interpretation, and GD&T standards. Skilled in CNC programming using G-code/M-code languages; experience with CAM software such as SolidWorks or CAD is highly desirable. Proficiency with measurement tools including calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, dial indicators, and other precision measuring instruments for quality control. Mechanical knowledge of machining tools, tooling setup, machine calibration, and basic math skills required for precise measurements and calculations. Ability to interpret technical drawings accurately and follow detailed instructions for manufacturing processes. Familiarity with electrical discharge machining (EDM), grinding operations, tooling management, and assembly processes is advantageous.
