Anaheim, CA Shifts available: 1st & 2nd Overview SkillsetGroup is seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented CNC Mill Machinist to join our manufacturing team. In this role, you will operate, set up, and program CNC milling machines to produce precision components that meet strict quality standards. The ideal candidate will possess strong mechanical knowledge and experience with various machining tools and measurement instruments. This position offers an opportunity to contribute to complex manufacturing processes, including plastics injection molding and precision machining, supporting our commitment to excellence in production. Responsibilities Operate CNC milling machines, including Fanuc-controlled equipment, ensuring accurate and efficient production of parts. Read and interpret complex blueprints, technical drawings, and GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing) specifications to ensure precise manufacturing. Program CNC machines using CAM (Computer-Aided Manufacturing) software and perform necessary adjustments for optimal performance. Set up tooling, fixtures, and calibration devices such as bore gauges, calipers, micrometers, and coordinate measuring machines. Conduct routine maintenance on CNC equipment and troubleshoot issues related to electrical discharge machining (EDM) and other machining processes. Use hand tools, power tools, and welding equipment as needed for assembly or minor repairs. Maintain accurate documentation of machining processes, measurements, and quality checks. Support lean manufacturing initiatives by identifying process improvements to enhance efficiency and reduce waste. Ensure compliance with safety protocols when operating machinery such as CNC lathes or forklifts. Assist in the inspection of finished parts using precision measuring instruments to verify conformance to specifications. Qualifications Proven experience operating CNC milling machines with a strong understanding of CNC programming languages such as G-code. Proficiency in CAD (Computer-Aided Design) software like SolidWorks or similar for part design review. Knowledge of blueprint reading, GD&T principles, and mechanical measurement techniques. Familiarity with manufacturing processes including plastics injection molding and welding techniques. Ability to use precision measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, and coordinate measuring machines. Basic math skills necessary for calculations related to machining tolerances and dimensions. Experience working with Fanuc controls or similar CNC systems is highly desirable. Mechanical aptitude with a solid understanding of tooling setup, fixture design, and machine calibration. Strong safety awareness with the ability to operate forklifts and power tools responsibly. Excellent problem-solving skills coupled with a proactive approach to troubleshooting machine issues.
