This role involves operating and setting up CNC and conventional machining equipment, reading technical drawings, making tooling adjustments, and inspecting finished parts for dimensional accuracy. The ideal candidate has strong mechanical skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to producing quality work safely and efficiently. Responsibilities Set up and operate CNC lathes and milling machines to produce parts according to machining programs and specifications. Program and make adjustments to CNC equipment using G-code and M-code to achieve accurate and efficient machining results. Perform precision measurements using calipers, micrometers, dial indicators, and other inspection equipment to verify part dimensions. Select and install appropriate tooling, fixtures, and workholding equipment for production jobs. Make tool offsets and other machine adjustments as needed to maintain dimensional accuracy throughout production runs. Perform in-process and final inspections to ensure components meet specified tolerances and quality requirements. Document machine setups, inspection results, production information, and other records required for manufacturing traceability and continuous improvement. Follow established safety procedures and maintain an organized and efficient work area. Qualifications Previous experience operating CNC machinery, including CNC lathes and milling machines, in a manufacturing environment. Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings, blueprints, dimensions, and tolerances. Knowledge of precision measurement methods and experience using calipers, micrometers, dial indicators, and similar inspection tools. Working knowledge of CNC programming using G-code and M-code. Familiarity with CAD software or similar programs for reviewing part designs and technical drawings. Experience using common machining equipment, including grinders and hand tools. Basic mathematical skills for calculating dimensions, feeds, speeds, tolerances, and other machining requirements. Strong mechanical aptitude and an understanding of metal properties and machining processes. Ability to identify and address basic machining, tooling, and dimensional issues.
