Overview We are seeking a highly skilled CNC Lathe Machinist to join our manufacturing team.

In this role, you will be responsible for operating, setting up, and programming CNC lathes to produce precision metal components according to detailed blueprints and specifications. The ideal candidate will possess strong mechanical aptitude, proficiency in CNC programming, and a thorough understanding of machining tools and measurement instruments. Duties Set up CNC lathe machines, including installing tooling, fixtures, and calibrating equipment for optimal operation. Program CNC lathes utilizing G-code and M-code, incorporating CAD/CAM software such as SolidWorks and other CAM programming tools. Interpret mechanical blueprints and technical drawings accurately to produce parts that meet precise specifications. Perform machining operations using manual tools, grinders, calipers, micrometers, and other precision measurement instruments to ensure quality standards. Conduct quality inspections through CNC quality inspection techniques and measurement (quality control) procedures to verify part dimensions and tolerances. Maintain machine performance by performing routine maintenance, troubleshooting issues, and adjusting machine parameters as needed. Utilize lean manufacturing principles to optimize machining processes, reduce waste, and improve efficiency. Document machining processes, measurements, and inspection results thoroughly for traceability. Support continuous improvement initiatives by suggesting process enhancements and participating in team projects. Ensure safety protocols are followed at all times during machine setup and operation. Experience Proven experience operating CNC lathe machines with a strong understanding of CNC programming including G-code, M-code, and CNC G-code Programming. Familiarity with Mazatrol controls, electrical discharge machining (EDM), and other advanced manufacturing techniques is desirable. Hands-on knowledge of CAD software such as SolidWorks or CAD programs for part design interpretation. Experience in manual machining, metal machining, grinding operations, and the use of hand tools and power tools. Ability to read mechanical blueprints accurately and interpret GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing). Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to troubleshoot machine issues effectively. Basic math skills for measurement conversions and calculations related to machining tolerances. Knowledge of measurement tools including calipers, micrometers, precision measuring instruments for quality control purposes. Understanding of lean manufacturing practices to enhance productivity and reduce waste. Prior experience in a manufacturing environment involving CNC milling machines or similar equipment is advantageous.
