Overview We are seeking a highly skilled CNC Lathe Machinist to join our manufacturing team. In this role, you will be responsible for setting up, programming, and operating CNC lathes to produce precision metal components in accordance with detailed blueprints and specifications. The ideal candidate will possess strong mechanical knowledge, proficiency in CNC programming languages such as G-code and M-code, and experience with various machining tools and measurement instruments. This position offers an opportunity to contribute to high-quality manufacturing processes within a dynamic, safety-focused environment dedicated to continuous improvement and lean manufacturing principles. Duties Set up CNC lathe machines, including tool selection, fixture installation, and machine calibration to ensure optimal operation. Program CNC lathes utilizing G-code, M-code, CAD (Computer-Aided Design), and CAM (Computer-Aided Manufacturing) software to produce complex parts with precision. Interpret mechanical blueprints and technical drawings accurately, applying GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing) standards for quality control. Operate manual machining tools such as calipers, micrometers, grinders, and hand tools for fine adjustments and secondary operations. Conduct precision measurements using micrometers, calipers, and other measurement instruments to verify part dimensions during production. Perform machine maintenance, troubleshoot issues, and make necessary adjustments to maintain consistent quality. Conduct quality inspections utilizing CNC quality inspection techniques and measurement tools to ensure parts meet specifications. Collaborate with engineering teams on tooling design, machine setup improvements, and process optimizations aligned with lean manufacturing practices. Requirements Proven experience operating CNC lathe machines with a strong understanding of CNC machining processes. Proficiency in CNC programming languages including G-code and M-code; experience with CNC G-code programming is essential. Familiarity with CAD software such as SolidWorks or similar for interpreting design files. Knowledge of blueprint reading, mechanical blueprint interpretation, GD&T standards, and precision measurement techniques. Experience with CAM programming software for toolpath generation and machine simulation. Ability to set up machining tools, fixtures, and tooling efficiently while adhering to safety protocols. Mechanical aptitude complemented by basic math skills for calculations related to measurements and tolerances. Familiarity with electrical discharge machining (EDM) processes is a plus but not mandatory. Strong attention to detail combined with excellent manual dexterity; experience with measurement instruments like micrometers and calipers is required. Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles aimed at reducing waste while maintaining high-quality standards. Ability to work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced manufacturing environment utilizing power tools and manual machining equipment. If you are committed to precision craftsmanship in metal machining and eager to contribute your expertise within a collaborative team environment, we encourage you to apply today. Join us in producing high-quality components that meet the highest standards of accuracy and efficiency.
