Position Summary V&S Engineering is seeking a highly skilled CNC Set Up Machinist who takes ownership of manufacturing performance from process planning through production. This individual is expected to independently develop efficient machining processes, build repeatable setups, optimize cycle times, solve manufacturing problems, and consistently produce high quality parts. This is not simply a machine operator position. The successful candidate will serve as a technical leader on the shop floor by improving manufacturing efficiency, mentoring operators, reducing waste, and driving continuous improvement while maintaining the highest standards of safety and quality. In this Role - You will: Set up and operate CNC mills and/or lathes, including multi-axis Read and interpret drawings/blueprints, work instructions, tool lists, and GD&T Install fixtures, tooling, vises, etc. Adjust offsets as required Run production cycles according to work orders and priorities Hold tight tolerances and maintain quality Maintain a clean and organized machining environment Run multiple work centers simultaneously for production runs Optimize machining processes Use strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills Required Qualifications Minimum of 7 years of CNC machining experience in a precision manufacturing environment. Proven ability to set up and operate CNC mills and/or lathes , including multi-axis machines. Strong knowledge of machining principles, including tooling selection, feeds and speeds, work-holding, and machining a variety of metals. Great attitude, team spirit Preferred (Not Required) Knowledge of milling and turning is a plus CAM programming is a plus Experience with horizontal machining and/or 5-axis machining Experience designing or improving fixturing and work holding solutions Familiarity with
