Full Job Description Job Description :
The contractor shall provide machining and manufacturing support for Navy weapon systems, customer equipment and systems through rapid prototyping, inspection gages, and support equipment. The contractor must have precision-grinding competency standards to produce quality products and meet rapid turn-around requirements for gages, hardware, and tooling workload for the Precision Machining and Tooling Shop. The contractor must demonstrate advanced setup and operation of surface, cylindrical, outside diameter, inside diameter, and other precision grinders and the ability to hold extremely tight dimensional, geometric, and surface-finish requirements. Responsibilities/Tasking includes :- Demonstrate cost effective manufacturing solutions in accordance with customer or system requirements.
- Provide support to special projects for All Navy programs and Interface Assessment.
- All actions are subject to regular reviews/audits by Quality Assurance personnel to ensure strict adherence to established procedures and/or processes.
- Follow strict Hazmat and Safety policy guidance and adherence to established procedures and/or processes.

Key Competencies :
- Knowledge of machining, tooling and manufacturing theories and practices (including shop mathematics and standard handbook formulas).
- Ability to operate and program computer numeric controlled (CNC) mills, grinders (surface, outer diameter, jig), and lathes.
- Ability to develop setups using magnetic chucks, centers, fixtures, sine plates, V-blocks, precision vises and custom tooling while minimizing distortion and maintaining datum relationships.
- Knowledge of selecting the correct abrasive, grit, grade, bond, structure, and wheel specification based on material and finish requirements.
- Ability to understand how wheel condition, feeds, speeds, depth of cut, coolant machine condition, and setup affect size, geometry and surface finish.
- Ability to properly dress, balance, and condition grinding wheels prior to starting precision grinding operations.
- Ability to account for thermal growth, wheel wear, machine movement, material movement and other variables when working at the tenths (.0001") level or tighter.
- Knowledge of GD&T Blueprint Interpretation.

GD&T, particularly flatness, parallelism, perpendicularity, cylindricity, concentricity/runout, profile, position, and datum structures.- Ability to produce, verify, troubleshoot, and protect extremely accurate dimensional features.
- Ability to use standard machine shop tools and measurement equipment. Proficient with micrometers, indicators, bore gages, height gages, gage blocks, comparators, and other high-accuracy inspection equipment.
- Ability to design, develop and manufacture tooling for unique fabrications and inspections. Ability to make judgments and decisions within the framework of oral and written instructions. Ability to improve grinding processes, reduce scrap/rework, develop repeatable methods. Knowledge of Safety, HAZMAT & Equipment care. Experience with machine maintenance, troubleshooting and housekeeping.

Qualifications:
Minimum High School Diploma; Science & Math College Credits Preferred or Vocational Training. Proficient in the use of MasterCAM, GIBBS
CAM or equivalent. MUST be a U. S. Citizen, able to acquire and maintain any security clearance. Proficient in use of Microsoft Office. Must have great interpersonal and customer service skills. Strong attention to detail is a must, able to follow GD and T drawings and adhere to strict Quality Assurance policies. Must have AS9100D Quality Management System Experience. Working knowledge and practical application of AS9100D.Primary Location :
