In this role, you will operate and set up various machining equipment to produce precision metal components that meet strict quality standards. Your expertise in CNC machining, manual machining, and blueprint interpretation will be essential to ensure efficient production processes. The ideal candidate is passionate about craftsmanship, possesses strong mechanical knowledge, and thrives in a fast-paced environment dedicated to manufacturing excellence. Duties Operate CNC lathes, milling machines, grinders, and manual machining tools to produce complex parts with precision. Read and interpret mechanical blueprints, technical drawings, and GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing) specifications to ensure accurate manufacturing. Program CNC machines using G-code and M-code, including CAM (Computer-Aided Manufacturing) programming and CNC programming adjustments for optimal performance. Set up machines by installing tooling, calibrating measurement instruments such as calipers, micrometers, and precision measurement devices. Conduct quality inspections utilizing measurement tools and gauges to verify parts meet specifications; perform CNC quality inspection as needed. Maintain machine calibration and perform routine maintenance to ensure consistent operation; troubleshoot mechanical issues promptly. Collaborate with engineering teams using CAD (Computer-Aided Design) software like SolidWorks and CAD programs for tooling design and modifications. Apply lean manufacturing principles to optimize workflow, reduce waste, and improve productivity across machining processes. Ensure safety protocols are followed during machine setup and operation; utilize hand tools, power tools, and tooling safely at all times. Experience Proven experience operating CNC machines such as CNC milling machines and CNC lathes in a manufacturing environment. Strong understanding of mechanical blueprint interpretation and mechanical knowledge essential for precise machining tasks. Skilled in CNC G-code programming, M-code adjustments, and CAM programming for complex part production. Familiarity with measurement instruments including calipers, micrometers, dial indicators, and other precision measuring instruments for quality control. Knowledge of manual machining techniques using hand tools, grinders, lathes, mills, and power tools. Ability to read technical drawings accurately while applying GD&T standards for precision manufacturing. Experience with metal machining processes such as turning, milling, grinding, and finishing operations. Basic math skills necessary for calculating dimensions, tolerances, feeds, speeds, and measurements during setup and inspection. Mechanical aptitude combined with the ability to interpret mechanical blueprints effectively ensures high-quality output in a fast-paced environment.
