In this role, you will leverage your craftsmanship to produce high-quality, close-tolerance components while ensuring every piece meets rigorous engineering standards. Responsibilities Configure and operate manual lathes and milling machines to achieve precise component specifications. Analyze complex engineering blueprints and technical documentation to guide production workflows. Verify dimensional accuracy throughout the fabrication process using advanced inspection tools like micrometers, calipers, and bore gauges. Optimize production efficiency by selecting the best tooling, fixtures, and machining strategies for each project. Perform proactive equipment maintenance to ensure consistent machine performance and reliability. Maintain a high-standard, organized workspace while adhering to all safety protocols to ensure a secure environment. Collaborate with the team to refine machining methods and improve overall shop throughput. Qualifications Required Skills 5+ years of professional experience operating manual lathes and mills. Expertise in interpreting detailed engineering drawings and GD&T specifications. Proven ability to hold tight tolerances consistently in a production environment. Strong proficiency with precision measuring instruments and inspection techniques. Solid understanding of feeds, speeds, and material properties. Preferred Skills Experience in a fast-paced job-shop setting. Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot and resolve mechanical issues independently. Strong mathematical aptitude for complex dimensional calculations. Commitment to continuous improvement and lean manufacturing principles.
