A Machinist will use mills and lathes in both CNC and manual modes along with various other machines. Finished parts must achieve high quality standards while meeting productivity objectives.
Compensation Statement:
The compensation range for this position is $31.12- $47.05 hourly depending on skill/experience. To succeed, you will need Ability to read blueprints to machine material to print Review machining operation and select appropriate tooling Plan sequence of machining steps Review material alloy certifications and the size/condition of material that will be machined Check and maintain the accuracy of measuring instruments before use Fill out required paperwork supporting the machining operation Deliver custom machined parts Maintain a clean, neat and safe work area Ensure basic machine maintenance issues such as clean filters, appropriate oil and coolant What you already know: You have Experience and/or college courses in the Machinist Field. You are knowledgeable in the operation of at least one type of Manually Operated Mill or Lathe. You have a good understanding of how to read blueprints and can use measurement instruments. Must be able to communicate effectively (speak, write and read) in English. You have demonstrated excellence in interpersonal skills, are a self-starter with a positive make-happen attitude. Must pass pre-employment background, drug, and alcohol screening, and participate in Company's Random-Drug Screening program.
Physical Requirements/Essential Functions:
You will be required to wear steel-toe type boots or shoes and safety glasses. You must be able to work in a noisy, oily/dusty machine shop environment. No wearing of any necklaces, rings or watches for safety reasons. You will use a variety of tools and machining equipment (lathes, mills, drill presses, saws, hand grinds/drill motors, etc.), forklifts, cranes, and measuring devices. Must pass pre-employment background, drug, and alcohol screening, and participate in Company's Random-Drug Screening program. Essential Functions/Physical Tasks include ; Able to push, pull and lift up to 30lbs, unassisted. Able to walk & move about effectively in a Machine Shop Facility. Able to communicate effectively in English (including the ability to read Safety Signage in English).
