Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a highly skilled CNC Machinist to join our manufacturing team. The successful candidate will be responsible for operating, programming, and maintaining CNC (Computer Numerical Control) machines to produce precision components according to detailed specifications. This role demands a strong mechanical aptitude, proficiency in CNC programming, and the ability to interpret complex blueprints and technical drawings. The ideal candidate will contribute to our commitment to manufacturing excellence by ensuring high-quality production standards and efficient machine operation.
Schedule:
3rd shift: Monday-Thursday, 10:30pm-7:30am; Friday 7:30am-1:30am- Alternative work week Duties Set up and operate CNC milling machines and CNC lathes, including Fanuc-controlled equipment, ensuring precise execution of machining processes. Develop and modify CNC programs using CAM (Computer-Aided Manufacturing) software, integrating GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing) principles for accuracy. Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and schematics to determine machining requirements. Perform precision measurements using calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, and coordinate measuring machines to verify part dimensions. Conduct routine maintenance on CNC machines and troubleshoot issues related to tooling, electrical discharge machining, or mechanical failures. Select appropriate tooling and fixtures for various projects while adhering to lean manufacturing principles. Use hand tools, power tools, and welding equipment as needed for assembly or minor repairs. Maintain detailed documentation of machining processes, inspections, and quality control measures. Ensure compliance with safety standards by operating equipment responsibly and utilizing proper personal protective equipment. Support continuous improvement initiatives by suggesting process enhancements and participating in team training. Skills Proven experience with CNC programming languages such as G-code; familiarity with CAM software is essential. Strong understanding of GD&T standards for precise measurement and quality assurance. Knowledge of electrical discharge machining (EDM) techniques is a plus. Proficiency in SolidWorks and CAD software for designing or reviewing parts. Ability to read complex blueprints and technical drawings accurately. Mechanical knowledge related to manufacturing processes including plastics injection molding and general machining. Skilled in using precision measuring instruments like calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, and coordinate measuring machines. Experience operating CNC milling machines and CNC lathes with Fanuc controls. Familiarity with tooling selection, setup procedures, and machine calibration. Basic math skills necessary for calculations related to dimensions, tolerances, and machine settings. Ability to work safely with forklifts, power tools, hand tools, welding equipment, and other manufacturing tools. Strong problem-solving skills with attention to detail; capable of troubleshooting machine issues efficiently. Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles aimed at reducing waste while improving productivity.
