To help us continue to grow our offerings, we are seeking a Machinist who will assemble, repair, and fabricate parts or components for tools or machines by operating mechanical equipment. Supports Engineering in fabrication of R D parts, assemblies, fixtures and jigs. Supports Production in CNC operated machinery, tooling, setup, and operation. Ensures finished products meet quality policies and standards. Duties and Responsibilities:
Sets up and operates conventional, special-purpose, and CNC machines to fabricate metallic and nonmetallic parts, applying knowledge of machine shop theory and procedures, shop mathematics, machinability of materials, and layout techniques Studies blueprints, sketches, drawings, manuals, specifications, or sample parts to determine dimensions and tolerances of finished workpiece, sequence of operations, and setup requirements. Requires familiarity with computer-aided design (CAD) software. Writes formulas necessary to program mills, lathes, and other CNC equipment using computer-aided manufacturing (CAM) software Calculates and sets controls to regulate machining factors, such as speed, feed, coolant flow, and depth and angle of cut, or enters commands to retrieve, input, or edit computerized machine control media Understanding of G-Code structure and implementation Sets up and operates machine and tools on trial run to verify accuracy of machine settings or programmed control data Analyzes and corrects tool malfunctioning in newly constructed or modified dies, verifying dimensions, alignments, and clearances, making any necessary adjustments or corrections to die or die parts to rectify tolerance deviations occurring in the stamped product Maintains a clean and organized machine shop Utilizes precision measuring instruments such as height gage, job blocks, dial indicator, micrometer, etc. to ensure parts are to proper specification and to check parts to ensure that each station is in correct position Creates and implements routine maintenance checklists, also performing basic troubleshooting when a machine malfunctions May confer with Engineering, Production, Facilities, or others to resolve machining or assembly problems Communicates effectively with peers, supervisors, and management Completes accurately all reports as required by the Company. Attends meetings and classes as required Uses knowledge of safety standards to avoid workplace accidents Performs all related duties as assigned
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent degree required. 3-5 years' experience in CNC machining, including set-up, programming and maintenance of machines. Mechanical and mathematical aptitude. Training in tool room machinery and procedures. Experience in operation of manual tool room equipment. Good communication, organizational, and mathematical skills. Familiar with various tool-and-die making methods, materials, procedures, and equipment is a plus. Ability to be a team player.
