Job Title:
CNC Mill Operator Job Description The CNC Mill Operator will operate CNC milling machines to produce precision components and perform thorough inspections using micrometers, calipers, and gauges. This is a temporary role tied to a specific project, requiring strong attention to detail, quality-focused work, and the ability to handle repetitive physical tasks throughout a 10-hour shift. Responsibilities Operate CNC milling machines to produce parts according to specifications and blueprints. Read and interpret blueprints to set up and run CNC mill operations accurately. Perform in-process and final inspections using micrometers, calipers, gauges, and other measuring tools to ensure parts meet quality standards. Monitor machining operations and make appropriate adjustments to maintain dimensional accuracy and surface finish. Follow established machining procedures, work instructions, and quality standards throughout the production process. Handle and move materials and finished parts, including lifting up to 50 pounds multiple times during a 10-hour shift. Maintain a clean and organized work area in the machine shop environment. Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors regarding part quality, machine performance, and any issues that arise during production. Support a variety of machining jobs for different industries, adapting to changing part requirements as needed. Why Work Here? Work Environment This position is based in a job shop machine shop environment with approximately 50 employees. The primary schedule is second shift, working four 10-hour shifts from the evening into early morning Monday through Thursday, with optional overtime available on Fridays. The shop manufactures products for a wide range of industries, including medical devices, surgical instruments, diesel, automotive, and agricultural applications. Most turning and milling operations run on modern CNC equipment, including Mor Seiki and Haas machines. The role requires frequent lifting of up to 50 pounds during a 10-hour shift and working around active machinery, tooling, and precision measuring instruments in a production setting. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Kenosha, WI. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $24.00 - $30.00/hr.
