Job Description
Job Title:
CNC Technician Job Description The CNC Technician is responsible for performing machine adjustments, ensuring dimensional accuracy, and supporting production flow. This role requires a strong technical ability, precision measurement skills, and the capability to troubleshoot machining, tooling, and programming issues while maintaining high standards of quality and safety. Responsibilities Perform machine adjustments related to settings, tools, and times. Ensure dimensional conformance of parts by reading blueprints and analyzing part measurements. Support production flow and lead operators within the assigned machining area. Troubleshoot a variety of issues including machine errors, tooling errors, and out-of-tolerance programming errors. Perform re-works on and off the machine and ensure correct documentation of quantities and operations. Use hand tools such as files and hand reamers to de-bur parts while maintaining product conformity. Perform visual inspections to identify issues early in the production process. Train operators on standard operating procedures and visual inspection details. Identify bottlenecks and communicate status with supervisors to support workflow. Support production plans based on priorities, output goals, and efficiencies of respective lines. Engage in Lean Manufacturing activities such as TPM, 5S, and Kan-Ban. Essential Skills Strong understanding of CNC machine operation. Ability to find errors in G&M codes. Experience with setting up tooling and determining the correct tools based on complex technical drawings. Knowledge of GD&T for technical drawings. Experience working with various mills and lathes, different numbers of axes. Proficiency in using precision measurement equipment such as micrometers, calipers, and height gauges. Additional Skills & Qualifications Understanding of fixturing and work-holding principles. Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing principles. Ability to perform quality inspections and ensure product conformity. Experience in training operators and supporting production plans. Why Work Here? Work Environment The work environment is extremely clean and maintained at a comfortable temperature of 70 degrees. The role involves supporting production flow and leading operators within the assigned machining area, emphasizing a culture of precision and efficiency. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Smyrna, GA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $29.00/hr.
