Hiring Experienced CNC Machinists Pay:
$25.00 - $40.00 per hour (based on experience)Schedule & Work Environment Schedule:
Monday through Thursday, 6:00 AM - 4:30 PM Enjoy a consistent four-day workweek that supports work-life balance while maintaining full-time hours.Onboarding Schedule:
Days 1-3: 7:00 AM - 3:30PM Transition Period:
8:00 AM - 4:30 PM This position works in a production machining environment operating CNC mills, CNC lathes, and other manufacturing equipment. The role requires standing for extended periods, lifting and loading parts weighing up to 75 lbs, and safely handling machined components throughout the production process. The facility follows 6S practices, emphasizing organization, cleanliness, and safety. Position Overview We are seeking an experienced Machinist II to join our precision manufacturing team. In this role, you will set up and operate 3, 4, and 5-axis CNC mills and CNC lathes , including equipment with live tooling, to produce high-quality machined components. You will work from blueprints, engineering drawings, and verbal instructions to manufacture precision parts while maintaining strict quality and dimensional standards. The ideal candidate is a skilled CNC machinist with strong setup experience, excellent blueprint-reading abilities, and a commitment to producing quality work in a safe, team-oriented environment. Key Responsibilities Set up and operate 3, 4, and 5-axis CNC mills and CNC lathes with and without live tooling. Operate a variety of CNC machining centers, lathes, and other hand and power equipment as required. Manufacture precision components from blueprints, engineering drawings, and verbal instructions. Read and interpret engineering drawings, including Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) . Install, assemble, and replace cutting tools and monitor machine performance to identify worn or damaged tooling. Adjust machine controls, tool offsets, work coordinates, and program parameters as needed. Utilize G and M codes and/or Mazatrol programming to support machine setup and operation. Perform machining calculations to determine correct feeds, speeds, and tooling requirements. Inspect parts throughout the machining process using precision measuring equipment such as micrometers, calipers, and dial indicators. Troubleshoot dimensional and quality issues and make process adjustments to maintain part conformance. Safely handle, lift, and load components into machinery, including heavier parts when required. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area in accordance with 6S standards . Collaborate with engineering and production teams to resolve machining challenges and improve processes. Complete required documentation and follow established work instructions and procedures. Required Qualifications Minimum 5 years of machinist experience in a manufacturing environment. Proven experience setting up and operating 3, 4, and 5-axis CNC mills and CNC lathes . Strong CNC machining background with both mill and lathe operations. Ability to work from blueprints, engineering drawings, and verbal instructions. Proficiency reading and interpreting blueprints, including GD&T. Working knowledge of G and M codes and/or Mazatrol programming . Experience using precision inspection equipment, including micrometers, dial indicators, and calipers. Ability to calculate feeds, speeds, and tooling requirements. Ability to safely lift and load components weighing 50-75 lbs . Strong verbal and written communication skills. High School Diploma or GED required. Preferred Qualifications Experience with multi-axis machining centers such as Mazak Integrex or similar equipment. Experience operating Mazak machinery and Mazatrol controls . Familiarity with Haas CNC machines . Experience collaborating with engineers on process improvements and machining solutions. Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Grand Junction, CO. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $21.73 - $39.13/hr.
