Job Description
CNC Machinist Job Description Job Summary We are seeking a skilled individual to join our dynamic team as a 1st shift CNC Machinist (6:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m. or 7:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m.). The ideal candidate will be responsible for operating and programming computer numerical control (CNC) machines to precisely cut, shape, and finish metal or other materials by creating and executing computer programs that control machine tools, ensuring the production of high-quality parts with accurate dimensions and specifications. Responsibilities 1. Set up/run HAAS, Tsugami, Hardinge, and Maier CNC machines. 2. Use precision measuring instruments, such as micrometers/bore gauges, to verify dimensions and tolerances. 3. Maintain tooling and equipment in optimal working condition. 4. Conduct routine maintenance on machines and troubleshoot any issues that arise during production. 5. Accurately record times for set-up and operation in data collectors. 6. Collaborate with team members to improve processes and enhance productivity. 7. Maintain a clean and safe work environment Skills 1. (2) or more years of direct hands-on experience, or 2-4 yrs experience in a closely related field such as sheet metal fabrication, welding, machine repair and willingness to train on the job 2. CMM measuring experience a plus 3. G-Code programming a plus 4. Camworks programming a plus. 5. Exposure to or experience in Fanuc and HAAS programming and understanding of tooling requirements a plus. Competencies 1. Working with related hand tools to set up Gang style and Swiss CNC lathes. 2. Working knowledge of precision measuring instruments, technical drawing interpretation, and basic math skills for calculations. 3. Detail-oriented with a commitment to producing high-quality work.
