Metals USA - Gregor Technologies Division is seeking a Manual Machinist in Torrington, CT. Metals USA - Gregor Technologies Division is a solid, growth-oriented manufacturing company with three and five axis machining, turning, fabrication and contract assembly that supports the scientific instrumentation, commercial, medical equipment, and high-speed mailing industries.

Responsibilities:

Sets up and operate manual lathes, Bridgeport's, flex arm tapping machine and drill presses. Possesses knowledge of tooling and speeds / feeds for manual machining. Ability to tap and countersink sheetmetal components per customer requirements. Experience in O.D. and surface grinding. Produces assigned products in accordance with verbal & written communication. Checks parts to ensure accuracy to print. Completes production paperwork, follows shop system data collection procedures, and follows inspection procedures. Maintains a clean and organized work area.

Requirements:

Two-year technical degree and/or three years relevant experience. Must have mechanical & mathematical aptitude Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings, documents, and blueprints. Ability to read measuring instruments such as height gages, micrometers, calipers, dial indicators and edge finders. Computer Literacy with understanding of MRP systems.
