Job Description

Job Summary
ATOPS LLC
is seeking an experienced Aviation Machinist to support our Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul (MRO) operations. The ideal candidate will have experience machining, repairing, and restoring aviation or aerospace components in accordance with approved technical data, drawings, specifications, and quality requirements. Responsibilities Set up and operate conventional and/or CNC machining equipment. Perform machining operations including turning, milling, drilling, grinding, boring, and related processes. Repair and restore aircraft and engine components within approved dimensional limits. Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, technical manuals, repair instructions, and specifications. Use precision measuring instruments including micrometers, calipers, bore gauges, height gauges, and other inspection equipment. Verify dimensions, tolerances, surface finishes, and other specifications throughout the machining process. Perform proper machine setup, tooling selection, and workholding. Inspect completed work for conformity with applicable technical requirements. Complete required work orders, travelers, routers, and maintenance documentation. Maintain traceability of parts and materials throughout the repair process. Follow applicable FAA requirements, company procedures, quality procedures, and safety requirements. Work closely with Quality, Engineering, Production, and other departments to resolve technical issues. Maintain machines, tooling, and work areas in a clean and safe condition. Identify and report discrepancies, damaged tooling, equipment issues, or nonconforming conditions. Follow Foreign Object Damage (FOD) prevention and workplace safety procedures. Perform other machining and production-related duties as assigned. Qualifications Previous machining experience in aviation, aerospace, manufacturing, or an MRO environment preferred. Experience with aircraft engine or component repair strongly preferred. Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and dimensional tolerances. Strong knowledge of precision measuring instruments. Knowledge of machining practices, tooling, feeds, speeds, and materials. Experience with manual lathes, mills, grinders, and/or CNC machines. Ability to work accurately within tight tolerances. Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality. Ability to follow written technical instructions and approved repair procedures. Ability to work independently and as part of a production team. Must be authorized to work in the United States. Preferred Experience FAA Part 145 Repair Station or aviation MRO experience. Aircraft engine component machining. Experience with engine parts such as housings, shafts, cases, seals, bushings, or similar components. Familiarity with aerospace materials and special processes. Familiarity with inspection requirements and nonconformance procedures. Physical Requirements Ability to stand for extended periods. Ability to bend, reach, and perform repetitive machining tasks. Ability to safely lift parts, tooling, and materials as required. Ability to work in a machine shop and industrial MRO environment.
