Part-Time Machinist — Haas 4-Axis CNC & Manual 3D Potter Palm City, FL Job Details Part-time $28 - $38 an hour 1 day ago Qualifications Mechanical blueprint interpretation Measurement-based inspection Safety protocol adherence Tooling Bore gauges Shop math Mechanical drawings Dimensional measurements Attention to detail Precision measurement in machining CNC G-code Programming Hand tools Full Job Description 3D Potter builds ceramic and concrete 3D printers here in Palm City. Our machines ship to universities, studios, and construction R D groups worldwide. We're a small manufacturing team building real hardware — and we're looking for a part-time machinist who can think, not just push cycle start. This is a fit for you if: you can read a print, program a part, pick your own tooling, and figure out the setup without someone standing over your shoulder. We make short runs, prototypes, and production components — the work changes week to week. Problem solvers do well here. Button pushers don't. What You'll Do Program, set up, and run parts on our Haas 4-axis CNC mill and CNC lathe Run manual mill and lathe work for one-offs, rework, and fixture builds Program parts in Fusion 360 CAM, or edit and prove out G-code at the Haas control Set up and index 4th-axis work — rotary fixturing, workholding, and multi-side operations Change out, inspect, and service tooling — set offsets, manage tool life, replace inserts, keep the tool crib in order Work from engineering drawings, CAD models, and hands-on direction from the Operations Manager Inspect your own work with calipers, micrometers, gauges, and indicators Improve setups and fixturing to cut cycle time and scrap Support the shop with saw, drill press, and deburring work Keep your area clean, safe, and organized What We're Looking For Required 3+ years of machining experience, CNC and manual Ability to program parts — CAM software or G-code at the control Solid blueprint reading, GD&T basics, and precision measurement Tooling knowledge: selection, changeover, offsets, wear, and service Strong problem-solving instincts — you diagnose the issue instead of waiting to be told Dependable, self-directed, and safety-minded Authorized to work in the U.S. Preferred Haas control experience and 4-axis/rotary work Fusion 360 CAM experience (we'll train the right person on our workflow) Prototype or short-run manufacturing background Fixture and workholding design experience Basic mechanical assembly or fabrication skills We care more about capability than credentials. If you can program, set up, and solve problems, we want to talk.
