This is a hands-on, non-CNC position focused primarily on manual lathe work, grinding, and finishing industrial components. The ideal candidate has strong mechanical aptitude, understands precision measurement, works safely, and is comfortable in a hot, dirty, and noisy industrial environment. Responsibilities Set up and operate manual lathes, grinders, and related shop equipment. Load, align, and secure workpieces and adjust machine settings as needed. Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and work instructions. Machine, grind, sand, and polish parts to required specifications. Use micrometers, calipers, and other precision measuring tools. Inspect finished parts for dimensional accuracy and quality. Perform basic equipment maintenance and maintain a clean, safe work area. Complete required production and inspection documentation. Qualifications 3+ years of manual machining experience preferred. 2+ years of manual lathe experience preferred. Strong knowledge of manual machine setup and operation. Ability to read blueprints and technical drawings. Proficiency using micrometers and other precision measuring tools. Strong mechanical aptitude, problem-solving skills, and attention to detail. TIG welding experience is a plus. Education High school diploma or equivalent. Work Environment This is a physically demanding manufacturing position. Employees must be able to stand for extended periods, lift up to 50 lbs., and work safely around machinery and metal particulates, including nickel, cobalt, iron, and tungsten carbide. Required PPE and safety programs apply. Additional Information Extreme Coatings is a drug-free workplace.
