The ideal candidate is a skilled setup and production machinist who can independently set up, operate, troubleshoot, and inspect complex CNC-turned parts while consistently meeting engineering, quality, and production requirements. NL1500 SY CNC
lathes with live tooling, with experience in 3- and 4-axis turning highly desired. The successful candidate will have strong knowledge of machining practices, tooling, work holding, and inspection techniques, along with the ability to make basic G-Code edits and adjust tool length and work coordinate offsets. Key qualifications : 10+ years of CNC machining experience, with a strong background in CNC turning. Proven ability to set up, operate, troubleshoot, and inspect CNC lathes. Experience with 3- and 4-axis turning. Mori Seiki NL1500 SY or similar CNC lathe experience a must. Swiss turning experience is a plus. Basic G-Code programming and editing skills. Ability to set tool length offsets and work coordinate offsets. Proficiency with precision measuring equipment, including calipers, micrometers, height gages, and dial indicators. Strong understanding of machining best practices and shop-floor controls. Excellent problem-solving and communication skills. Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team. Strong sense of accountability, organization, and attention to detail. Commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement. 5S experience and/or leadership experience is a plus. Beyond technical skills, we are looking for someone who takes ownership of their work, solves problems, works well with others, and contributes to a positive, safety-focused shop environment. You will collaborate closely with fellow machinists, CNC Programming, Quality, and other support teams to ensure parts are produced safely, accurately, efficiently, and on time.
