Cylinder and Machine was founded in 2000 and is now one of the leading providers of hydraulic cylinder repair in the Southeast.
CURRENT NEED
We are seeking a skilled Conventional/Manual Machinist (not CNC) to join our team. As a Machinist, you will be responsible for using conventional mills and lathes to repair precision steel parts for hydraulic cylinders
  • no job is exactly the same.
DUTIES :
  • Set up and operate conventional mills and lathes to perform precision machining operations on steel parts for hydraulic cylinders up to tolerances of 1/1000 of an inch
  • Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and specifications
  • Create engineering drawings of industrial parts
  • Use precision measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, and gauges to ensure accuracy of dimensions
  • Inspect finished parts to ensure they meet specifications
  • Weld attachments and parts as needed to facilitate machining operations
  • Maintain equipment by performing routine maintenance and troubleshooting issues
  • Collaborate with other team members to optimize production processes and drive a culture of safety
QUALIFICATIONS
:
  • Minimum 5 years of experience operating conventional mills and lathes
  • Proficiency in using precision measuring instruments
  • Ability to create and interpret blueprints and engineering drawings
  • Knowledge of tooling selection and setup for different machining operations
  • Experience with power tools commonly used in machining processes
  • Basic math skills for calculations and measurements
  • Basic welding, mechanical, and forklift skills
  • Experience with hydraulic cylinders strongly preferred C&L Cylinder and Machine is a Drug Free Workplace and requires pre-employment testing.
