This position is ideal for a hands-on machinist with strong setup and operation experience on manual mills, lathes, boring mills, drills, grinders, and related machine tools in a fast-paced job shop environment.

30% Double Time Sunday Expect to work 10-20 hours of overtime per week at 1.5x Relocation Assistance Available Responsibilities Set up and operate manual mills, lathes, boring mills, drill presses, grinders, and other conventional machining equipment Machine large and small components from blueprints, sketches, work instructions, and technical drawings Perform complete machine setups including tooling selection, workholding, speeds, feeds, and cutting parameters Determine proper machining sequences and methods based on part requirements Perform turning, facing, boring, threading, drilling, tapping, milling, and related machining operations Machine components to required dimensions and close tolerances Use precision measuring instruments to verify part dimensions and quality Perform in-process and final inspections of machined components Make adjustments to tooling, setup, and machining processes as needed Troubleshoot machining, tooling, and dimensional issues independently Maintain accurate inspection and production documentation Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area Work closely with engineering, quality, and production personnel to resolve manufacturing issues Follow all company safety procedures and contribute to continuous improvement efforts Qualifications Minimum 5 years of manual machining experience in a manufacturing or job shop environment Strong experience operating manual mills, lathes, boring mills, and related machine tools Ability to independently set up and operate manual machining equipment Strong ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and machining specifications Experience working with precision measuring equipment including calipers, micrometers, height gages, dial indicators, thread gages, go/no-go gages, and related inspection tools Strong understanding of machining practices, speeds and feeds, tooling, and workholding Solid machine shop math skills Ability to machine components to close tolerances Ability to troubleshoot machining processes and make adjustments independently Must supply standard machinist tools or obtain required tools shortly after hire Clean driving record and ability to travel occasionally if required Willingness to work overtime and flexible schedules during peak production periods Preferred Qualifications Previous job shop or heavy industrial manufacturing experience Experience machining large industrial components Experience with horizontal boring mills, vertical boring mills, or large manual lathes Background in industrial equipment, power generation, or custom fabrication environments Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills Experience machining a variety of materials including carbon steel, stainless steel, alloy steel, and other industrial metals Experience producing close-tolerance precision components with a strong focus on quality and repeatability
