Job Description

Position Summary:
Talent Services Group is seeking a Skilled Machinist for a 2nd/weekend shift opportunity. The Machinist will be responsible for interpreting technical data and independently performing complex machining operations on a variety of CNC and manual equipment. This role requires strong blueprint reading, measuring tool proficiency, and experience working with tight tolerances. New hires will complete a training period on 1st shift (3-6 months) before transitioning to their regular schedule.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
Read and interpret blueprints, sketches, and planning sheets to determine tooling and machining methods. Set up and operate CNC machines with FANUC controls. Maintain tolerances down to 5 microns (0.0002 in / 0.005 mm). Perform inspections using micrometers, calipers, ID mics, bore gauges, dial indicators, and profilometers. Install and align tooling, fixtures, and workpieces. Load programs, set up machines, and make control adjustments for machining parameters. Perform manual operations as needed and change tools according to machining sequence. Monitor machining operations for conformance to specifications and detect malfunctions. Conduct dimensional and visual inspections of finished components. Document work performed and communicate non-conformances or deviations. Keep machines and work area clean; conduct minor maintenance and oiling.
Additional Responsibilities:
Follow all safety protocols and policies. Collaborate with team members to meet department goals. Maintain high housekeeping and organizational standards. Uphold confidentiality and company values. Participate in drug testing and background checks per company policy.
Minimum Qualifications:
High school diploma or GED required. Minimum 2 years of machining experience or completion of relevant technical training. Experience with Horizontal/Vertical Mills, Lathes, Surface Grinders, EDMs, etc. Fluent in reading G and M Code. Must be a U.S. Citizen (no current/future work sponsorship needs). Must pass a routine background check and drug screen.
Preferred Qualifications:
5+ years of hands-on machining experience . Associate degree or certification in machining or related field. Strong math skills (fractions, decimals, percentages, graphing). Comfortable using both SAE and Metric units. Prior experience in a high-precision manufacturing environment.
Physical Requirements & Work Environment:
Must be able to stand for long periods and lift up to 50 lbs. Frequent movement, manual dexterity, and use of tools/equipment. Exposure to loud noise and moving machinery; hearing protection may be required. Fast-paced, team-oriented environment focused on safety and quality.

$28.00 - $32.00 per hour Expected hours: 40 - 60 per week
